Willie Mae Wilkins, 70, of Gates died Sunday, April 19, 2009 at Roanoke Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie.
Survivors include six daughters, Edna Baker, Doris Saunders, Willie M. Wilkins, Fay Baker and Peggy Wilkins all of Gates, and Patricia Wilkins of Gatesville; two sons, Charles E. Wilkins Sr. and Altoria Wilkins, both of Gates; four sisters, Betty J. Boone of Sunbury, Mary Wiggins, Bertha Brown and Delores Foster, all of Gates; six brothers, George E. Jones, Tommy Jones, Kelay Jones, Hurley L. Jones Sr., Donald Jones and Willie M. Jones Jr., all of Gates; 23 grandchildren and eight grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 23 at New Piney Wood Chapel Baptist Church in Gates. Rev. Richard Curry, Rev. Stanley Wiggins and Rev. Ronnie Riddick will be officiating. Burial will be in the Jones Family Cemetery, Gates.
The family will receive friends at 74 Sarem Road, Gates.
