Charles Weslie Knowles Sr., 90, of Knowles Lane, Windsor, died Friday, April 17, 2009 at his home.
A native of Bertie County, he was a farmer and a member of Windsor United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Nannie Manning Knowles of Windsor; daughter, Nancy Knowles Jernigan of Murfreesboro; sons, Charles Weslie Knowles of Wanchese and Richard Lawrence Knowles of Murfreesboro; brother, Phillip S. Knowles of Elgin, TX; sisters, Dorothy Thomson and Mable Cash, both of Norfolk, VA; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 19 at Walker Funeral Home Chapel, Windsor, by the Rev. David Woolsey. Burial will follow at Edgewood Cemetery, Windsor.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 18 at Walker Funeral Home, Windsor, and at other times from the home.
