Wilma Beaman

Wilma Earley Beaman, 94, a lifelong resident of Ahoskie, entered into Heaven on Good Friday, April 10, 2009.
In addition to being a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Wilma worked with several area businesses including The Ahoskie Department Store, Capps-Daniels Drug Co. and Rose’s. In her later years she served as caregiver for her mother, uncle and sister in their declining years.
Born to Magruda and Nola Mitchell Earley on October 14, 1914, in addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, H. L. Beaman; her brother, Mervin Earley; and her sister, Dolly Garrett.
Mrs. Beaman is survived by her two sons, Harold M. Beaman and wife, Jane, of Surf Side Beach, SC, and Leroy S. Beaman and wife, Dana, of Virginia Beach, VA; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank her three loving caregivers, Ms. Becky Blowe, Ms. Louise Sharpe and Ms. Linda Cox, for making her comfortable and safe over the past several years. Her life was greatly enriched by the care of these special people.
A graveside celebration of life service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at Ahoskie Cemetery with the Rev. Lee Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends at Garrett-Jones Funeral Home in Ahoskie from 7-8:30 p.m. on Monday, April 13.
