Dalton White

Dalton Richard White, 79, of US 13-17 South, Windsor, died Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville.
A native of Colerain, White was a Deacon, Sunday school teacher and member of Cashie Baptist Church as well as a choir member. He was a member of Charity Lodge #5 and former member of Windsor Volunteer Fire Department. He was a past board member of the Windsor Little League and Bertie High School Falcon Club.
White was a Korean War veteran and was honorably discharged in 1954. He retired from Louisiana Pacific Lumber Company as a foreman and from C&H Supermarket after 28 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Evie White of Windsor; daughter, Phyllis W. Leggett of Windsor; son, David White of Southern Pines; sister, Sarah Lee W. Mizelle of Ahoskie; brothers, Robert Earl White of Ahoskie and Clarence White of Moyock; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Friday, April 10 at Cashie Baptist Church. The Rev. Reese Blanchett officiated. Burial was in Edgewood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the home.
