Ann Sweet

Mrs. Ann Vann Sweet passed away at her home at Bermuda Village on March 27, 2009.
She was born on January 13, 1914, in Ahoskie, NC, to the late Joseph Newsome and Agnes Wooten Vann. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon W. Sweet.
Mrs. Sweet graduated from Salem College in Winston-Salem, NC, and Columbia University from which she received an M.A. in mathematics. She taught mathematics at Queens College in Charlotte, NC, and at Agnes Scott College in Atlanta, GA.
Survivors include her sons, Charles Sweet and his wife, Sally, of Bradenton, FL and David Sweet of Knoxville, TN; her grandchildren, Jennifer and Kristen Sweet of Knoxville, Charles L. Sweet of Denver, CO and Gregg Edwards and his wife, Sandy, of Bradenton, FL; a great grandson, Carter Edwards of Bradenton, FL; and a sister, Mrs. Mildred Godwin of Raleigh, NC.
A memorial service for Mrs. Sweet will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at the Bermuda Village Chapel with Dr. William Hoyle of Clemmons Presbyterian Church officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to The Gordon W. and Ann V. Sweet Memorial Fund at Clemmons Presbyterian Church.
