John A. Boone, 74, of Gates died April 7, 2009 at Lifecare Hospital, Rocky Mount.
A native of Gates County, he was a member of Stoney Branch Missionary Baptist Church where he was on the Pastor’s Aide and Men’s Fellowship.
He retired from Weyerhaeuser as a finisher.
Survivors include two brothers, Claude Boone of Gates and Rev. Jimmy Boone of Sunbury; and one sister, Hazel Boone of Gates.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 13 at Stoney Branch Missionary Baptist Church by the Rev. Bryan Johnson. Burial will be in the Boone Family Cemetery.
