Mildred Jones Willoughby, 89, of the 200 block of McKinley Drive, died Sunday, April 5, 2009, at Guardian Care of Ahoskie.
Mrs. Willoughby was born in Bertie County, a daughter of the late James Starkie and Geneva Myers Jones. She was a member of Connaritsa Baptist Church and was retired as an employee for the state of North Carolina.
Left to cherish her memory is her sons, Ernest Ray Willoughby and his wife, Sandy of Eau Claire, Wisconsin and Robert Earl Willoughby and wife, Lynn of Stanley, NC; six grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at Connaritsa Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert White officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to services.
