Mrs. Robin Dixon Gibson, 76, of Murfreesboro died Sunday, March 15, 2009 at her home.
Mrs. Gibson was born Oct. 19, 1932 in Hertford County, the daughter of the late Robert M. Dixon and Lillian Underwood Dixon. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Ralph M. “Donald” Dixon and her former husband, John Gilbert Gibson Sr.
She was a retired registered nurse and had worked at Autumn Care in Rich Square for many years.
She was a member of Meherrin Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, John Gilbert Gibson Jr. and his wife, Jeannie, of Murfreesboro; her daughters, Debora G. Turner and her husband, Allen, of Como, Donna G. Woodard and her husband, Bobby, of Murfreesboro, and Patricia R.G. Collupy and her husband, David, of Williamsburg, VA; and her brother, Robert M. “Jimmy” Dixon of Fairfield, CA. Surviving grandchildren are Adam Gibson and his wife, Shona, Andy Gibson, Rebecca Gibson, Kyle Glisson, Hannah Woodard and Tyler Turner; and a great-granddaughter, Selena Gibson. Also surviving are a special caregiver, Vickie Parker, and her faithful companion, Saidy.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at Meherrin Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie McLawhorn officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Meherrin Baptist Church Fellowship Hall from 7-8:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
