Elsie Downing, 67, formally of Cofield died Thursday, February 19, 2009 at Nash General Hospital, Rocky Mount.
A native of Hertford County, she was a member of New Harrellsville Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sons, Wilbert Downing of Battleboro, Larry James Downing of Harrellsville and Carlton Leon Downing of Cofield; sisters, Annie Taylor and Lillie Mae Raynor, both of Cofield; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 1 at New Harrellsville Chapel Missionary Baptist Church by Bishop Micheal Williams. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Hunters Funeral Home Inc., Ahoskie, is handling the arrangements.
