Augusta Smallwood Sr., 85, of Windsor died Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at Three Rivers Health and Rehabilitation Center, Windsor.
A native of Bertie County, he was a member of Indian Woods Missionary Baptist Church, Windsor. He was retired from Lea Lumber Company, Windsor.
Survivors include three sons, Augusta Smallwood Jr. of Roxobel, Robert Lewis Smallwood of Aulander and Herbert Smallwood of Covington, PA; two daughters, Amanda “Nancy” Smallwood and Lillie Mary Tann, both of Norfolk, VA; two sisters, Hester Bond and Mendora Thompson, both of Windsor; two brothers, Alonzo Williams of Rich Square and George Williams of Colerain; 20 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28 at Indian Woods Missionary Baptist Church, Windsor, with the Rev. Ralph White officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
