Mrs. Willie Bass Britt, 91, of the 100 block of Glover Street, Colerain, died Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at Guardian Care of Ahoskie.
Mrs. Britt was born in Bertie County, a daughter of the late John Calvin and Cora Felton Bass. She was a member of Colerain Baptist Church and had retired as an administrative assistant for her late husband, Henry Franklin Britt.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Nancy Britt Eskew of Flat Rock, NC, and Paula Britt Rozov of Greenville, SC; her son, Henry Franklin Britt Jr. of Ahoskie; grandchildren, Stuart Jernigan, David Jernigan, Heath Britt, Ryan Britt and Emily Flores; and great grandchildren, Amanda Jernigan, Georgia Flores and Max Flores. Besides her parents, husband and siblings, Mrs. Britt was predeceased by a daughter, Jackie Jernigan.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at Colerain Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Memorial donations in Mrs. Britt’s memory may be made to Colerain Baptist Church.
