Melvin Creecy “Bobby” Askew, 68, of Connaritsa Road, Kelford, died Friday, February 13, 2009 at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie.
A native of Bertie County, Askew was a member of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church and a retired farm worker.
Survivors include sisters, Leora Cowan and Bertha Ruth Tyler, both of Lewiston, Tattie Mettie West of Windsor and Dorothy Godley and Doris Mitchell, both of New York.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 20 at Wilder’s Funeral Home Chapel, Aulander, with the Rev. Travis T. Judkins officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Olive Baptist Church Cemetery, Lewiston.
