Stanley Parker Sr.

Stanley Joseph Parker Sr., 80, died Friday, February 13, 2009 at his home in the Ashley’s Grove Community near Conway.
He had been preceded in death by his son, Gilbert Stephenson Parker of Zuni, VA; his brother, Lyman Parker of Murfreesboro; and sisters, Vashti Tinkham and Lorene Slaughter of Ahoskie.
A native of Northampton County, he was retired from Union Camp Corporation in Franklin, VA where he worked as a Scalesman in Roll Finishing on Machine No. 3. A caring husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, his greatest joy was sharing happy times with his precious family.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife, Cloyce W. Parker of their home; children Stanley Parker Jr. of wife, Mary, of Murfreesboro, Esther Cowan and husband, Freddie, of Como, Keith Parker and wife, Viola, of Hopewell, VA, Nancy Hargrave and husband, Junior, of Pendleton, Teresa Parker of N. Tonawanda, NY, and Pam Blanton of Ahoskie; 19 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; sisters, Gladys Baugham and husband, John, of Boykins, VA, and Trudy Gibson and husband, Earl, of Murfreesboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17 in Ashley’s Grove Baptist Church with Rev. David Ross presiding.
