Athaniel “Nat” Winborne, 72, of Windsor died Friday, February 6, 2009 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville.
A native of Windsor, he was a member of Sandy Point Baptist Church and worked for over 40 years with Williford Logging Company.
Survivors include his wife, Mary B. Swain of Windsor; five sons, Cleveland Swain of Hampton, VA, George Lewis Swain of Lake City, SC, Larry Swain of Farmville, VA and Jesse Swain and Nathan Swain, both of Windsor; nine daughters, Erma S. Mebane of the home, Barbara Swain, Rosa S. Bond, Linette Swain and Florence Winborne, all of Windsor, Mary S. Holloman of Ahoskie, Alice Spivey of Williamston and Ruth Swain of Bronx, NY; three sisters, Verlia Lanier of Williamston and Andre Tomlin and Diane James, both of Philadelphia, PA; and one brother, Earnhart Winborne of Windsor.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Feb. 11 at Mt. Ararat Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Ricky Williams officiating. Burial took place at Hillcrest Cemetery, Windsor.
Cherry Funeral Home, Windsor, handled the arrangements.
