Paul Odom

Paul Brittle Odom, 91, of Kelly’s Beach Road, Tyner, died Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at Chowan Hospital, Edenton.
A native of Northampton County, he was retired from the former Peoples Life Insurance Company.
Odom was a member and deacon emeritus at Ballard’s Bridge Baptist Church. He was a member of the Chowan Ruritan Club, the American George Masonic Lodge #17, from where he recently received his 60-year pin, and had served in the United States Coast Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Adkins Odom; a daughter, Paulette Odom Blankenship of Williamsburg, VA; two brothers, Jake H. Odom of Conway and Jesse W. Odom of Richmond, VA; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 13 at Ballard’s Bridge Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Parr and Rev. John Wilkerson presiding. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may join the family from 7-8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 12 at Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton and at other times at the home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ballard’s Bridge Baptist Church, 3025 Virginia Road, Tyner, NC 27980 and be directed for use in the children’s ministry.
