Patrick Hartwell Mitchell Jr., 83, of Hoggard Mill Road, Windsor, died Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at Bertie Memorial Hospital, Windsor.
A native of Bertie County, he was a logger and worked with Lea Lumber Company for 33 years and 10 years with Johnny Pierce Logging.
He was a founding member of Edgewood Baptist Church and also served as a deacon.
He is survived by his wife, Wardrey Mitchell of the home; one son, Allen Mitchell of Wendell; one daughter, Lydia Mitchell Hoggard of Windsor; one brother, George B. Mitchell of Windsor; and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 12 at Edgewood Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Mitchell’s home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Edgewood Church Building Fund.
