Northampton shooter sought

GARYSBURG — The Northampton County Sheriff’s Office is on the look out for a suspect after a shooting occurred at a party that left a victim seriously injured.

According to Northampton County Sheriff’s Chief Detective Captain D.M. Harmon, the shooting occurred Sunday at approximately 3:30 a.m. at a home on Carlos Drive.

Harmon said the shooting transpired during a party when the suspect, identified as Rodney Earl Brown of 155 Ash Street in Weldon, got upset with another male at the residence and allegedly shot at the male approximately four times.

“The victim was taken to Halifax Regional Medical Center,” said Harmon. “He was listed as being in critical condition due to the injuries and was airlifted to Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville.”

A warrant has been issued for Brown for attempted first degree murder.

Brown is 36 years of age stands five foot, 11 inches. He has light green eyes and a long reddish brown goatee. He goes by the nickname “Pope.”
