James Earl Grant, 58, of Bell Lane, Woodland, died Saturday, January 24, 2009 at Rex Blue Ridge Health Center, Raleigh.
A native of Northampton County, he was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church, Woodland, and employed by Deerfield Correctional Center, Capron, VA.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine L. Grant of the home; children WyKing Grant of Wake Forest and Matroba Tarver of Raleigh; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 31 at Jerusalem Baptist Church with Minister Larry Lynn officiating. Burial will be in the Wilder-Cherry Family Church Cemetery, Aulander.
