Lula Parker Watford, 78, of Colerain died Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie.
A native of Bertie County, she was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, Colerain.
Watford was a retired custodian with Bertie County Schools.
Survivors include children, Al Watford and Arthuretta Boone, both of Colerain, Douglas Watford of Ft. Dix, NJ and Juanita Moore of Suffolk, VA; sisters, Marie Blackstone of Roanoke Rapids, Pauline Watford of Middletown, CT and Fredia Stanley of Colerain; brothers, Randolph Chapman of Bridgeport, CT, Hubert Chapman of Ahoskie and William “Bill” Jones of Greenville; 15 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 25 at Zion Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Nathaniel Thompson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Wilder’s Funeral Home Inc., Aulander, is in charge of the arrangements.
