Johnny Gray Shaver, 62, of the 200 block of Gilmer Ricks Road, died Tuesday, January 20, 2009.
Mr. Shaver was born in Hertford County, a son of the late Boyden and Thelma Griffin Shaver. He was a retired Sergeant from the United States Army.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Gladys Lee Shaver; his daughters, Michelle Wiley of Fort Drum, NY and Ruby Purgason of Enigma, GA; his sons, John Shaver of Conway and Michael Paul Shaver of Salisbury, MD; and 14 grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Mr. Shaver was predeceased by two sons, Robert Marshall Shaver and Archie Boyden Shaver; and a son-in-law, Jeffrey D. Payne.
A private service will be held at a later date.
