Eura Mae Hayes, 68, of Holley Road, Merry Hill died Saturday, December 27, 2008 at her residence.
A native of Bertie County, she was a Deaconess at Ashland Missionary Baptist Church, Merry Hill, a member of Voices of Ashland and Mass Choir, Club 16, and a member of Eastern Star
She was a retired Eligibility Specialist with the New York City Department of Social Services
Survivors include two sons, Willie Morris and Baron Morris, both of Brooklyn, NY; a daughter, Sandra Powell of Cofield; a brother, Tyrone Cobb; a sister, Judy Leary of Merry Hill; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, Jan. 3 at Ashland Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie J. Best Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Wilder’s Funeral Home Inc., Aulander, is in charge of the arrangements.
