Ola Mae Spruill Smith, 88, of Aulander died Thursday, December 11, 2008 at Three Rivers Nursing Home, Windsor.
A native of Bertie County, she was a member of Kelford Missionary Baptist Church, Kelford.
Survivors include, sons, Ulysses Smith Jr. of Paterson, NJ and Cecil Smith; daughters, Glenda Newsome and Rachel Smith, both of Bronx, NY, Vera Newsome of Fayetteville and Vicki Dickerson of Lewiston; brother, Jack Spruill of Portsmouth, VA; sister, Sarah Hardy of Aulander; 38 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, Dec. 14 at Mill Branch Missionary Baptist Church, Aulander, with the Rev. Ronald M. Dolberry officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Wilder’s Funeral Home Inc., Aulander, handled the arrangements.
