Lawrence Earl Cross, 77, of Roduco died Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at his residence.
He was a native of Gates County.
Survivors include two sons, Lawrence Edward Cross of Eure and Jerome Cross of Ahoskie; three step-sons, Charles Depugh of Roduco, Edward Depugh of Connecticut and Phillip Porter of Georgia; six daughters, Jennifer Cross of Virginia, Stephanie Belyea of Texas, Jacqueline Cross of Roduco, Felicia Cross of Eure, Zita Jackson of Iowa and Shenesha Depugh of Fayetteville; four step-daughters, Barbara Overton of Roduco, Virginia Depugh of Virginia, Dana Ranhart of Maine and Linda Cross of Gates; one brother, Floyd Cross of Gates; two sisters, Mildred Eure and Madge Porter, both of Gates; 40 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13 at Gates County High School with Pastor Robert Mallory officiating. Burial will be in the Cross Family Cemetery.
Hertford County Undertakers, Winton, are in charge of the arrangements.
