Walter Clarence Manley, 78, of Hwy 561 West, Aulander, died Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie.
A native of Hertford County, Manley was a member of Menola Baptist Church, Woodland.
He was a retired Machine Operator at Georgia-Pacific.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Manley of Aulander; sons,
Walter Clarence Manley Jr. of Garysburg, Willie Gene Manley of Lewiston, Donald Manley of Aulander, Ronald Manley of Columbia, SC, Richard Earl Manley of Woodbridge, VA and Jimmy Manley of Washington, DC;
daughters, Shirley Manley of Aulander and Lora Nelson of Upper Marlboro, MD; a sister, Barbara Majette of Ahoskie; 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6 at Wilder’s Funeral Home Chapel, Rich Square, with Pastor Denise Hardy officiating. Burial will be in the Wilders-Cherry Family Cemetery, Aulander.
