Dr. Virginia G. Ayscue, 89, died Friday, November 28, 2008 at her home.
She received her PhD from UNC; her MA from ASU and her Batchelor’s degree from UNC. She taught English in Fairfax Co., VA, Murfreesboro High School from 1944-47 and Washington High School for 15 years and was assistant professor of English at ECU. She retired after eight years as Supervisor of Language Teachers in Wilson Schools. She was also a published author.
She was a member First Christian Church of Washington.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia A. Bellar of Hickory; and a grandson.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Dec. 2 at Paul Funeral Home, Washington, by Dr. Michael Price. Burial followed in Pamlico Memorial Gardens.
