Linda Pope Askew, 63, formerly of Harrellsville, died December 3, 2008 due to complications from pneumonia.
She founded and directed Askew’s Daycare Home in Harrellsville.
She attended The Carpenter’s Shop Church in Ahoskie.
She was married to Edward McCoy Askew of Harrellsville.
In addition to her husband, survivors include two daughters, Wilma Askew King of Durham and Machelle Askew Reid of Triangle, VA; two sisters, Marjorie Pope of Marion, SC and Katherine Ridley of Hampton, VA; and a brother, Ray Pope of Franklin, VA. She had four grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be handled by Vaughn’s Funeral Home, 1717 South Street, Franklin, VA.
Linda was a breast cancer survivor, therefore, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, 5005 LBJ Freeway Suite 250, Dallas, TX 75244.
