Willam Ray

William Edward “Bud” Ray, 76, of the 100 block of Pine Lane, died Friday, November 21, 2008.
Ray was a native of Hertford County and a member of Ahoskie Free Will Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and was retired as a fireman and former Fire Captain for Ahoskie Fire Department, after 27 years of service.
Survivors include a daughter, Marsha R. Perry of Colerain; his sons, Ricky Edward Ray of Gates, William Anthony “Tony” Ray of Kelford and Randy Woodson Ray of Conway; a sister, Virginia Sumner of Ahoskie; and two brothers, Charles Ray and Horace Ray, both of Ahoskie. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26 at Ahoskie Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Philip Tipton officiating. Burial will follow in Job Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the home.
