Thomosena Tyner Boone, 78, of Woodland died November 15, 2008 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.
A native of Northampton County, she was a member of Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church where she was on the Missionary Circle. She was also an Eastern Star, served as President of the Women’s Auxiliary VFW and was elected to the Woodland Town Council.
She retired from International Ladies Garment Workers Union. She was also employed with Coastal Plains Legal Services and was co-owner of Holloman Sausage Company.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph Boone of Woodland; two daughters, Celestine Gomes of Spring, TX and Linda Boone Richardson of Emporia, VA; one brother, Rev. James Hamilton of Ahoskie; three sisters, Catherine Garris of Murfreesboro, Vivian Pannell of Portsmouth, VA and Cynthia Freeman of Conway; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, November 20 at Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church by Dr. Geneva Chavis. Burial will be in Anderson Family Cemetery.
