Axie Davis Harrell, 83, of Norfolk died on November 13, 2008.
Harrell was born March 4, 1925 in Northampton County.
Harrell was a longtime member of Second Baptist Church of Poughkeepsie, NY where she served as a deaconess and as president of the usher board. After retirement, she became a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church where she was on the Pastor’s Aid Ministry and the Nursing Ministry.
Harrell was retired from the Hudson River Psychiatric Unit after 30 years of service as a nurse.
She is survived by her daughter, Lillie. She had nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, November 18 at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Norfolk. Pastor William L. Davis officiated. Burial was in Poughkeepsie, NY.
