Dorothy Modlin Baggett, age 86 of the 1000 Block of NC Hwy 561 West, Aulander, died Thursday, October 23, 2008 at Roanoke Chowan Hospital.
She was born June 17, 1922 in Martin County to the late Haywood Modlin and Betty Waters Modlin. She was the wife of the late Robert McGee Baggett.
She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and was retired as Manager from Jernigan Cleaners after 15 years.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday, October 26, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens. Rev. Jimmy Jarrell will officiate.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons Billy Wright and his wife Lavene of Murrells Inlet, SC, Curtis Gibson and his wife Tanya of Killeen, TX and a daughter Wanda Perry and her husband Ricky of St. John; two stepdaughters Linda Jenkins of Beargrass and Becky Jones of Lakeland, FL.; a sister Pearl Scott; brothers Bill Modlin, Raymond Modlin, Bobby Modlin and David Modlin all of Plymouth; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Garrett Funeral Home, 205 NC Hwy 42 West, Ahoskie.
