Mildred Fleetwood Barnes, 77, a native of Hertford County, died October 13, 2008 at Obici Hospital, Suffolk, VA.
Mrs. Barnes was a member of Parker’s Grove Church – Murfreesboro.
Survivors include her sons, Bernard Barnes of Como, Johnnie Barnes of Conyers, GA, Jessie Majette of Murfreesboro, and Myron Steward of Woodbridge; daughters, Elsie Everette of Como, Mary L. Stephenson of Como, Cynthia B. Banks of Murfreesboro, Janie Martin of Murfreesboro, Connie Fleetwood of Manassas, Mary Majette of Manassas, and Brenda Robinson of Scotland Neck; a brother, James Ruffin of High Point; a sister, Elnora Beamon of Suffolk, VA; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Parker’s Grove Baptist Church, Murfreesboro, by the Rev. Fernando Temple. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Wilder’s Funeral Home Inc., Rich Square, is in charge.
