Joseph Brett, 72, a native of Como, died October 9, 2008 at his residence.
Brett was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. He was a brick mason for 35 years.
Survivors include four sons, Jospeh Britt of Conway, Eddie Britt of Chesapeake, Va., Travis Britt of Bethlehem, PA and Ronald Britt of Murfreesboro; four daughters, Janice Dickens of Jamaica Queens, NY, Laquitta Britt of Conway, Regina Turner of Jacksonville and Sebernia Turner of Murfreesboro; 11 sisters, Laura Smith, Thelma Lewis, Rosa Byrd, Margaret Woods, Edna Edwards, Ida Edwards, Shirley Joseph, Donna Goodall, Mildred Britt, Jesse Daphnis and Sharon Perry; three brothers, Samuel Britt, Sampson Britt Jr. and Rev. Harry S.T. Britt.
A funeral was conducted Monday at Hunters Funeral Home Chapel, Ahoskie.
