Jerry Clingman Morris, 81, a native of Bertie County, died October 13, 2008, in Chowan Hospital, Edenton.
Morris was retired as a crane operator from Georgia Pacific.
Survivors include his wife, Nellie Dickens Morris; his daughters, Shirley M. Lassiter and Sue M. Cox, both of Aulander; his sons, Jerry Morris of Ahoskie and Larry Morris of Aulander; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Garrett Funeral Home-Ashley Chapel, Ahoskie. Burial will be in the Grant Morris family cemetery, Roxobel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 until 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday and other times at the home.
