Your photos await the world
Remember…it’s all about you.
Last month, the Roanoke-Chowan News-Herald launched its new and improved Web site (www.roanoke-chowannewsherald.com). Judging by the numerous comments we have received, the new site has been very well received.
One of the exciting new features of the Web site is the “Your Shots” link. That feature is now operational.
We welcome your photos. Our Web site is your Web site, treat it just as you would a personal photo album that you would proudly show to family and friends. Now you have an opportunity to share those photographs with everyone.
As an added bonus, the Roanoke-Chowan News-Herald also has the opportunity to share photos. At many of the events we cover, only one or two photos from those outings are actually published in the newspaper. If it’s a major event, there are perhaps more photos that find their way to our printed pages, but there are hundreds of others within our vast library of photographs that are never published.
We can now download all of our staff photos to the “We Spotted” section of our Web site. We have begun that effort with 162 photos taken by Staff Writer Amanda VanDerBroek at this past Saturday’s Roanoke-Chowan S.A.F.E. fund raiser and fashion show held at Catherine’s Restaurant in Ahoskie. See if you can “spot” family and friends among those modeling the fashions.
Within the “Your Photos” link is a feature entitled “You Spotted.” To date, three visitors to that link have downloaded some of their favorite photos, including some vintage NASCAR racing shots and a windsurfer at Nags Head. Check ‘em out!
To include your photos in the “You Spotted” section, simply register (it’s free) as a user and follow the directions. You do not have to register to view any of the photos on the Web site.
Show the world your photos of a family reunion, birthday party, holiday scenes, weddings, vacations…the list goes on and on. And remember, www.roanoke-chowannewsherald.com is all about you and it’s all free.
