William Taylor

William Howard “Bud” Taylor, 59, a native of Bertie County, died October 3, 2008 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville.
Taylor was a member of Piney Wood Chapel Baptist Church, Ahoskie, and served in US Air Force from 1969- 1973 He was employed as a truck driver with Waters and Waters Trucking Co.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Jean Taylor of Greenville; children, Derrick of Greenville, Tonya of Summerville, SC, Renae of New Haven, CT, Tiffany of Rocky Mount, Stacey of New Haven, and Loretta of Greenville; brothers, Ralph Taylor Sr., Thurman Taylor Sr., Linwood Taylor Sr., David Taylor Sr., and Vernon Taylor Jr. , all of Ahoskie; sisters, Isae Mae Cherry of Ahoskie, and Sherbert Rankins of Raleigh; and five grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 2921 Briery Swamp Rd., Stokes, by Elder Lester Andrews. Burial will be in the Taylor family cemetery, Greenville. A wake will be held from 7-8 p.m. Friday at Piney Wood Chapel Baptist Church, Ahoskie. Rountree Funeral Home, Greenville, is in charge. Wilder’s Funeral Home Inc., Aulander, supplied information.
