Jackson Burnette “Jack” Grant Jr., 73, a native of Northampton County, died October 3, 2008 at Halifax Regional Medical Center.
A funeral was conducted Monday at The Roanoke Rapids Church of God by the Rev. Marvin Wiggins. Burial was in Jackson Cemetery with full military honors. Massey Funeral Home, Roanoke Rapids, was in charge. Memorial contributions may be made to the Roanoke Rapids Church of God, 1017 Rapids Street, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870.
Grant retired as a U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Veteran and served his country for 28 years.
Survivors include his son, William E. Ronning of Montana; his daughter, Aline Grant Gilb of Minnesota; his sister, Pearl Grant Nunnamaker of Raleigh; and two grandchildren.
