Shirley Hare Jenkins Perry, a native of Ahoskie, North Carolina, was born July 15, 1933 to the late James and Nancy Hare, also a native of Newport News and resided in Richmond, VA.
She leaves to cherish her memories 3 sons, Rory and Jasper Jenkins (Angela), Samuel L. Massenburg, Sr. (Connie), 2 daughters, Pamela J. Massenburg, Kim Cherry, 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, Collis and Starkey Hare, 3 sisters, Alice Shelton, Carolise McCowan, Ruth Y. Hare, a devoted grandson, Elder Samuel Massenburg, Jr.; a devoted niece, Marilyn Johnson Parrish, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Wake: Monday, October 6, 6 p.m.-8 p.m., Brunson’s Funeral Chapel, 100 Federal Street, Richmond, VA 23219. Funeral: Tuesday, October 7 – 1 p.m. Christian Tabernacle 5100 Salem Street, Richmond, VA 23231.
