Nellie Taylor Lassiter, 87, a native of Gates Coumty, died October 2, 2008, in Nansemond Pointe Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, Suffolk. She was the widow of Wayne R. Lassiter.
Mrs. Lassiter was a homemaker, she was a member of Damascus Christian Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy L. Holland of Suffolk and Barbara L. Jones of Sunbury; a sister, Margaret Johnston of Sunbury; two brothers, Robert Taylor of Hertford and Lloyd Taylor of Portsmouth; three granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main St., Gatesville, by the Rev. Forrest Guthrie. Private burial will follow in Damascus Christian Church Cemetery, Sunbury. Friends may join the family in the funeral home following the service and all other times at the home of her granddaughter, Lisa, 649 Acorn Hill Road, Sunbury.
