Mary Olivia Spivey Joyner, 75, a native of Bertie County, died September 23, 2008 at Pitt Memorial Hospital, Greenville.
She was a member of Zion Bethlehem Baptist Church, Windsor.
Surivors include her sons, Samuel Joyner Jr. of May Landing, NJ, William Lee Joyner of Bridgeport, CT and Samuel Joyner III of Windsor; daughters, Sarah F. Joyner Swain of Richland, Carol D. Jackson of Windsor, Annie Joyner Outlaw, Elizabeth Joyner, and Marie Joyner, all of Windsor; a sister, Cora Lee Pugh of Manhattan, NY; 18 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 12 noon Saturday at Zion Bethlehem Baptist Church, Windsor, by the Rev. Barry Keith Berryhill. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Windsor. Wilder’s Funeral Home Inc., Aulander, is in charge.
