Wiley Jones Sr.

Wiley Parker “Daddy Wiley” Jones Sr., 90, a native of Northampton County, died September 15, 2008, in Bon Secours DePaul Medical Center. He was the widower of Queen E. “Mama Queenie” Jones.
Jones had been a boiler tender at a U.S. Naval base and retired after more than 30 years of service from there. He was a member of Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church, Chesapeake, and was one of the founding members of the church and a former chairman of the Deacon’s Ministry. He was also a member of Tidewater Masonic Lodge No. 106, where he was an honorary Chaplain.
Survivors include his daughter, Evangeline M. Davis of Norfolk; two sons, Wiley P. Jones Jr. and Jerome Cradle, both of Norfolk; three sisters, all of North Carolina; one brother of Amityville, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and four great-great- grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Tuesday in Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church by the Rev. Willie R. Jones. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Community Funeral Home, Norfolk, is in charge.
