Lenwood Pierce, 79, died September 17, 2008 in Roanoke Rapids. He was the widower of Gladys Pierce.
Survivors include two daughters, Doris Powell of Tarboro and Robin Pierce of Rocky Mount; six sons, Ronald Pierce of Bunn, Amos Pierce of Roanoke Rapids, Howard Pierce of Gasburg, Va., James Pierce of South Riding, Steve Pierce of Angier and Tracy Pierce of Roanoke Rapids, six sisters, Mildred Harris, Thelma Evans and Carol-Ann Wilson, all of Henderson, Ellen Ranes of Smithfield, Virginia Dickens of Lake Charles, La. and Catherine Crowder of Jackson, two brothers, Paul Pierce of Jackson and J.D. Pierce of Henderson, 23 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Massey Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Charles and Jean Arnold Massey Funeral Home, Roanoke Rapids, is in charge.
