Lucy C. Hall, 99, departed this life Friday evening, September 12, 2008 at Roanoke-Chwoan Hospital in Ahoskie, North Carolina. She was one of nine children born of Minnie and David Rooks of Gates County. She was one of three middle daughters the couple raised.
Lucy joins her husband, Sherman and seven of her siblings who preceded her in death. She leaves a sister, Mabel Taylor of Philadelphia, PA; four nephews, David Arthur Rooks of Atlanta, GA, Joseph Rooks of Aliso Viejo, CA, Alvin Chisolm, MD, of Rochelle, NY and Michael Chisolm of New York, NY; and a very close personal friend, Rickey Britt Sr. In addition, many great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at Pleasant Plains Baptist Church. The Rev. Richardson will do the eulogy and Rev. Robert Ashe, pastor. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Hertford County Undertakers, Winton, is in charge of arrangements.
