Eagles ace Knights

TERRA CEIA – Northeast Academy won their third straight league match here Thursday.
The Lady Eagles took a four-set volleyball match from Terra Ceia Christian School to improve to 3-2 inside the Tarheel Independent Conference. The win was their sixth overall.
Northeast won the first two sets by counts of 25-19 and 25-21 before the Lady Knights rallied to take set number three 25-18. The Lady Eagles closed out the match with a 25-12 win in set number four.
“These ladies go for every touch. They hustle. They just don’t quit,” said Northeast Head Coach Cap Pfeiffer.
Callie Burgess led the Lady Eagles with six digs, two blocks, an ace and a kill while Kelly Sykes had six kills, two blocks, an assist and an ace.
Jennifer Sykes had an excellent match with 13 assists, two aces, two kills and one tip while Lace Pfeiffer had five aces, three kills, a dig and a tip.
Molly Hargrave checked in with two digs, one kill and one tip while Cameron Flythe had one ace and one kill. Meghan Bridgers added one kill.
In junior varsity action, Northeast took a straight-set win over Terra Ceia by counts of 25-15 and 25-6.
Lindsey Bryant had four assists, three kills, two tips and an ace to pace the Lady Eagles while Dayna Barnes had two kills and an ace. Ashlee Flythe added two aces and an assist while Taylor King had one ace.
