Isla Rea Davis Futrell, 71, a native of Northampton County, died September 9, 2008.
Mrs. Futrell was a member of the Conway Baptist Church and Eastern Star. She worked in the public school system as a teacher’s assistant for 28 years. She retired in 1997 from the Seaboard Coates Elementary School.
Survivors include her husband, Carroll Eugene Futrell Sr. of the home; one daughter, Elizabeth F. Vick of Rich Square; three sons, Carroll Eugene Futrell Jr. of Murfreesboro, Steve Lewis Futrell of Farmville and William David Futrell of Winterville, one sister, Cary Barnes of Colerain; one brother, Clifton Davis Jr. of Conway; nine grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Conway Cemetery in Conway by the Rev. Willie McLawhorn. Sykes Funeral Service, Rich Square, is in charge. Memorial contributions may be made to the Conway Baptist Church, PO Box 160, Conway, NC 27820.
