Charles Royster II

Charles Flournoy Royster II, 86, a native of Danville, VA, died September 8, 2008 at his home. He was the widower of Corinne Britton Royster.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at the Britton family cemetery, Britton Family Home place, near Seaboard, by the Rev. Joe McLean. The family will receive friends at Galatia Baptist Church Fellowship Hall following the graveside service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Seaboard Lions Club.
Royster joined the US Army and was a member of the 736th Field Artillery Battalion. He was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds he received. After his service in the Army, he worked in the insurance field and at the time of his retirement he was an executive with Jefferson Pilot Life Insurance Co. He was a member of West Market Street United Methodist Church, Greensboro. He was also a member of the Seaboard Lions Club.
Survivors include hs son, Charles F. “Chuck” Royster III of Greensboro; and one grandson.
