Burke Trucking wins

AULANDER – Burke Trucking rallied from four runs down to defeat the Northeastern Orthopedics Neo-Pods.

A seven-run fourth inning was enough to lift Burke Trucking to the Coach-Pitch victory in the Aulander Youth League July 17.

Kayley Minton led Burke Trucking with a 3-for-4 night that included three runs scored while Andre Mitchell was 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Rounding out the offensive attack was Aaron Cullipher, who was 2-for-4 with three runs scored.

The Neo-Pods were paced by Austin Burkett, Brandon Ball and Mike Barber. Each was 2-for-4 at the plate with Barber scoring four runs and Burkett and Ball reaching home plate three times each.

The Neo-Pods led 6-0 after one inning and held an 11-8 advantage after two. Their advantage was trimmed to 16-14 after three innings.

Metal Tech n 19, ViQuest n 10

Metal Tech scored in every inning as they defeated ViQuest 19-10 in a softball contest July 18.

Kaela White led Metal Tech with a 2-for-2 night including three runs scored. Lauren Lassiter was also perfect at the plate, going 1-for-1 with one run scored.

Lindsey Faella was 1-for-2 with three runs scored for Metal Tech.

Pacing ViQuest was Lauren Coley, who was 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Michelle Nichols and Sierra Jernigan had one hit each and scored two runs each.

Kaela White was the winning pitcher for Metal Tech, going three innings and striking out six.

Golden Peanut n 15, Millennium Styles n 1

Golden Peanut scored 10 runs in the second inning and cruised to a 15-1 victory over Millennium Styles in a softball game here July 16.

Brittany Hoggard picked up the pitching victory, going four innings and striking out seven.

It was Ally Rushing leading the way offensively, going 2-for-3 with three runs scored while Brittany Howell was 2-for-4 with one run scored. Chelsie Malone was 1-for-3 with three runs.

Brittany Odom led Millennium Styles with a 1-for-1 performance.

Millennium Styles n 17, Golden Peanut n 5

Millennium Styles scored seven times in the third and six in the fourth frame to roll by Golden Peanut 17-5 here July 14.

Jessica Mobley grabbed the win on the mound, pitching all four innings while striking out three.

Offensively, the Millennium squad was paced by Casey Minton, who was 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Mandy Bazemore was 2-for-3 and scored twice while Tiffany Lassiter drew three walks and scored twice.

Golden Peanut was 1-for-1 with two runs scored for Golden Peanut.
