Schueck Steel undefeated

AHOSKIE – Schueck Steel secured an undefeated season.
Schueck defeated Catherine’s 10-1 June 30 to complete a 9-0 season in the Ahoskie Recreation Department’s Junior Girl’s division.
Heather Joyner was the winning pitcher for Schueck during the contest while the offense was led by a 2-for-2 performance from Ashyln Cooke.
Theresa Steward had a 1-for-2 night including a homerun while Brittany Evans was 1-for-2 with a triple. Cathy Ford and Emily Grace were each 1-for-1.
Rotary n 9, IFS n 3
Rotary scored six times in the first two innings and went on to defeat Integrated Family Services 9-2 June 30.
Cory Cutrell paced Rotary, going 3-for-3 with two RBIs. Nathan Askew was 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs while Alston Morris was 2-for-3. Both Duke Harrell and Boyd Tisdale were 2-for-4 for Rotary.
Rounding out the offensive attack were McCrae Ashley (1-for-2) and Jacob El-Khoury (1-for-3).
Lions n 19, Athlete’s Foot n 0
Lions scored in every inning to roll past Athlete’s Foot 19-0 in a little league game July 1.
Offensively, Landon Larabee was 4-for-5 with two doubles to lead Lions while Tyler Hoggard was 3-for-4 with three doubles.
Jefferson Kilshimer also had two hits while Clay Barmer, Matthew Judge, Matt Evans and Brandon Williams each had one hit.
“I want to thank the players and their parents for a fun and enjoyable season,” said Lions’ coach Michael Harrell.
The Lions and Stoney Creek Diner finished the season tied for first place.
Stoney Creek n 8, Home Life Care n 2
Stoney Creek took an 8-2 victory over Home Life Care recently.
Ackerman Grace paced the winning team with eight strikeouts on the mound to go with a perfect 2-for-2 performance at the plate that included a homerun.
Brandon Terry and Bobby Merritt each went 2-for-3 for Stoney Creek while Tucker Warren, Bryan Merritt, Tyquan Davis, Paul Tilley and Devon Ivey each had one hit.
WOW n 18, Kiwanis n 3
WOW banged out 19 hits and scored 18 runs to defeat Kiwanis June 30 in a Midget League game.
WOW as led by Matt Castelloe’s 4-for-4 performance as well as 3-for-3 nights from Tyler Jones, J.T. Gatling and Evan Simmons.
Tyler Pope had two hits on the night while Wyatt Waterfield, Byron Lyles, Brandon Hawkins, Billy Davenport and Cade Quattlebaum had one hit each.
