Aulander continues play

AULANDER – Golden Peanut built a 6-0 lead in their Aulander Youth League contest with Millennium Styles last week.
The team then held on as Millennium scored six times in the final three innings. Golden Peanut scored once over the course of the same span, but claimed a 7-6 win.
Allie Rushing picked up the pitching victory with three strikeouts.
Brittany Hoggard and Chelsie Malone led the offensive attack for Golden Peanut with each going 2-for-3 with one run scored. Candice Terry was 1-for-2.
Millennium was led by Jessica Mobley, who was 2-for-3 with two runs scored, and Frances Eure who was 2-for-3. Brooke Stroud was 1-for-1 with one run scored.
Ricky’s Corner Shop n 11, Liverman’s Metal Recycling n 11
Liverman’s Metal Recycling and Ricky’s Corner Shop ended their game June 25 with an 11-all tie. The game will be finished later if it is needed.
Liverman’s was paced by the pitching of Joseph Ginn, who had four strikeouts, while Austin Brinkley had four strikeouts for Ricky’s Corner Shop.
Offensively, Liverman’s was led by Tyler Jones’s 2-for-3 performance with three runs scored. Eric Baggett was 1-for-2 with three runs scored and Brian Bland was 1-for-1 with a homerun.
Greg Hurdle led Ricky’s with a 1-for-1 night that included three runs scored. Matthew Weaver was 1-for-2 with two runs scored.
Metal Tech n 14, ViQuest n 3
Metal Tech’s Ashley Burkett struck out five batters in four innings and led her team to a 14-3 win over ViQuest June 24.
“The girls played like they were having fun tonight,” Metal Tech coach Eddie Drew said. “They played strong all night.”
Alexis House was 1-for-1 for Metal Tech and added a homerun while Kaela White was 1-for-1 with a run scored. Lindsey Faella was 1-for-3 with a run scored.
ViQuest was paced by Theresa Stewart, Brittany Parker and Brittany Davis, each of whom was 1-for-2.
Northeastern Orthopedics n 18, Millennium Civic Org. n 15
The Northeastern Orthopedics Neo-Pods defeated Millennium Civic Organization 18-15 June 24.
The Neo-Pods were led by Mike Barber, Jordan Harris and Brett Outlaw. Each of those batters was 2-for-3 with two runs scored.
Millennium Civic Organization was paced by Sarah Lassiter and Landon Bracy, each of whom went 3-for-4 with three runs scored. Desmond Overton was 2-for-4 with three runs scored.
