Metal Tech edges ViQuest

AULANDER – Metal Tech rallied from a 9-6 deficit with four runs in the bottom of the fourth frame here June 10.
The four-run inning helped them power past ViQuest 10-9 in the softball league of the Aulander Youth League.
Metal Tech had one hit in the contest. Lindsey Faella was 1-for-1 with two runs scored.
ViQuest had four hits, led by Sierra Jernigan with a 2-for-3 night including a triple. Lauren Coley and Brittany Parker had the other two hits.
Desiree James was the winning pitcher for Metal Tech, going four innings and striking out five.
Jernigan was the hard-luck loser with six strikeouts in four innings.
Golden Peanut n 15, Millennium Styles n 3
Golden Peanut scored seven times in the fourth and six in the fifth to roll to a 15-3 win over Millennium Styles here June 9.
Kelly Cummings was the offensive force for Golden Peanut, going 4-for-4 with two runs scored. Allie Rushing was 1-for-2 with two runs scored and Candice Terry was 1-for-3 with two runs scored.
Millennium Styles was paced by Casey Minton’s perfect 1-for-1 night while Autumn Ginn was 1-for-3.
Taylor White was the winning pitcher, tossing four innings and striking out four.
Ricky’s Corner Shop n 15, MWB Repairs n 2
Ricky’s Corner Shop pounded out 11 runs in the first inning and rolled to a 14-2 win here June 9.
Cody Cobb and Tyler Burden were the offensive leaders for Ricky’s. Each was 2-for-3 during the evening. Cobb scored three times and Burden twice.
Chris Adams and Greg Hurdle each were 1-for-2. Hurdle’s hit was a homerun.
Woody Lowe paced MWB Repairs with a 1-for-3 night with one run scored.
Matthew Weaver struck out eight in the winning effort on the mound.
