ViQuest holds off Metal Tech
AULANDER – ViQuest rallied from an 8-7 deficit to score nine times in the third inning.
That was enough to help them take a 16-10 softball victory over Metal Tech in the Aulander Youth League June 6.
Metal Tech scored seven times in the second and built an 8-1 lead before ViQuest rallied with six runs in the second and nine more in the third.
Lauren Coley led ViQuest, going 1-for-2 with a grand slam, while Sierra Jernigan was 2-for-2 with a homerun and three runs scored.
Jernigan was also the winning pitcher, striking out three.
Metal Tech was led by Baylee Baugham and Karla White, each of whom was 1-for-3 with a run scored.
Millennium Civic Organization n 25, Burke Trucking n 14
Millennium Civic Organization scored four or more runs in each of four innings to defeat Burke Trucking 25-14 in a Coach Pitch League game June 6.
Kole Liverman and Ben Byrum each were 3-for-4 with four runs scored for Millennium while Desmond Overton was 3-for-4 with three runs scored and a homerun.
Kaitlyn Parker and Andre Mitchell led Burke Trucking. They were each 3-for-3 with two runs scored. Alston Green was 2-for-2 with two runs scored.
